Heartland
Two days trot for wild horse, even farther,
This is my turf of command for far reach.
Predator feathered chasing dark sky's sun
An endless day and more never reaches end.
Cruel powerful fin slicing salty cold water
From moonrise till moonset, still not there.
Search here, search there, search everywhere,
Love's tender footprint dares not to be found
Casting shadow across my vast lands of rule,
Soft hands in peace or fast and fierce, never.
These are my lands to rule with iron fist,
eyes of ice, lips so cold and chilled heart.
Twisted terrible, grim sneer, gargoyles guard
Passion, emotion and desire in gruesome regard.
Wild eyes, sharp claws, pointed teeth alike,
Roam my vast heartland of such cold command.
No king, no queen, no bishop nor court jest,
Dare to grace the wildness of my lonely place.
