Arnold Schwarzenegger signed a written oath to never raise taxes. Schwarzenegger ran on platform of never raising taxes during the Gray Davis recall.
Subsequently, Schwarzenegger inflicted the most massive tax increase in national history upon California. Upon signing off on these new taxes, Schwarzenegger sat down with democrats to celebrate. They toasted and smoked cigars.
Schwarzenegger put together a series of propositions to double taxes after inflicting this massive tax increase. Schwarzenegger spent millions of dollars on television advertisements and radio advertisements in favor of these tax hike propositions. Schwarzenegger employed deceptive wording in those propositions indicating this was a "spending cap" when in reality this was another massive tax increase. Those propositions where voted down by a 2 to 1 margin by residents.
After being trashed by residents, Schwarzenegger suddenly turned back into a Republican and took to campaigning against taxes.
Schwarzenegger consistently pushes left liberal bills and policies.
Schwarzenegger so badly managed the budget, California ended up bankrupt, 24 billion dollars in debt and had to issue IOU checks to cover for costs. Credit rating of California is now at a junk bond status.
Schwarzenegger is currently under recall. Chances are high he will be removed from office in late November.
