You, the reader, are well informed on this Roland Burris corruption and crime. Burris purchased the Illinois senate seat vacated by Barack Obama, then was confirmed by equally corrupt politicians. Burris purchased this senate seat from Rod Blagojevich, former governor of Illinois who was impeached then removed from office for corruption and crime, specifically for his "pay to play" Ebay auction of Obama's former senate seat. Burris was the high bidder.
Very recently, the Senate Select Committee On Ethics send a very polite letter to Roland Burris, a letter which sent a message, "You have been a bad boy and you will be rewarded with a senate seat."
This letter is not really worth reading save for a few select sentences which I will present here in a bit. Those six senators simply wrote a "whitewash" letter and wrote a lot of fancy rhetoric to cover their backsides. Truly not worth reading, will only make you mad, but there are copies available all over the web if you bent on having your sense of decency offended.
There are three sentences of interest to me.
"Your sworn affidavit and sworn testimony before the Illinois House of Representatives were inconsistent, incomplete and misleading."
I know this as "lying".
"Your shifting explanations about your sworn statements appear less than candid."
I know this as "lying".
"Your November 13, 2008 phone calls with Robert Blagojevich, while not rising to the level of an explicit quid pro quo, was inappropriate."
I know this as "crime".
Roland Burris did, in fact, engage in crime. This is well documented through investigation and through wiretap recordings. None can argue Burris did not engage in crime.
Subsequently, Roland Burris lied to America. This is evidenced by his oral statements and his written statements. This is acknowledged by this letter from those "ethical" corrupt senate politicians.
Those six senators have engaged in poorly veiled "quid pro quo" using their own words. Those senators sent out a message, "We will not spank Burris if you do not spank us". All politicians have dirt on all other politicians. This dirt is routinely used to blackmail each other into being agreeable. If there is no dirt, politicians will shovel in dirt from somewhere then exclaim, "Look, your office is dirty! Now, let's cut a political deal."
A deal is cut. Democrats want Roland Burris for his vote in support of Democrat sponsored bills. Burris is dirty, is tainted, he cannot say "No" to much of anything. He is compromised.
I am adept at reading between the lines. This letter to Burris from the senate, between the lines, simply reads,
"Congratulations Honorable Roland Burris, you are now a U.S. Senator!"
Annoys me Burris is afforded a title, "honorable". Very few politicians earn this title.
What angers me is Burris will collect $174,000 in salary this year, perhaps prorated, along with full "Cadillac" health coverage. Next year, he will collect more. Should he make the five year mark, he is then entitled to retirement benefits.
By this date, Burris should have been tried, convicted and tossed into prison. He lied under sworn oath, he purchased a senate seat, he committed crimes. This is documented.
Nope. Instead, we Americans are providing Roland Burris with a lavish lifestyle. We are providing for his every need. Roland Burris is living high on the hog and he is billing us taxpayers for this.
We Americans, who are out of job, out of home, out of money, living on the streets, our children going hungry, we are paying for this well-to-do lifestyle of lying criminal Roland Burris.
The Senate Select Committee On Ethics has deliberately inflicted injury upon our nation and has deliberately inflicted injury upon every American family, except families of politicians.
The Senate Select Committee On Ethics is making a mockery of America as is Barack Obama.
